Stress management with breathing techniques

Learn to relax on-the-fly with Ruth Adam

11.09.2017 – 18.09.2017

Dr. Ruth Adam is a Neuroscientist working as a postdoc in the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD) in Munich, and is also a certified yoga teacher.

Following the Contemplative Practices lecture on June 7, 2017, by which scientific evidence supporting relaxation methods was introduced, we will offer a practical course in relaxation and breathing techniques.

Ruth describes her goals of this course as follows:

From my own experience as a graduate student and from talking to students, stress is obviously a major distress. I am offering a workshop in which the you can learn quick and effective relaxation techniques which can be used ‘on the fly’, before giving a presentation or even before the defense talk.

For me, it is important to teach you methods that are fast and can be used in every situation. I will introduce several relaxation and breathing techniques. You will then have the chance to practice those methods in various scenarios and ask questions. Written summary will be provided.
