3 After-work sessions: Stress management with breathing techniques
Learn to relax on-the-fly with Ruth Adam
25.03.2019 – 08.04.2019
Dr. Ruth Adam is a Neuroscientist who worked as a postdoc in the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research (ISD) in Munich, and is also a certified yoga teacher.
Ruth will introduce practical relaxation methods and breathing techniques, as well as giving scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness.
Ruth describes her goals of this course as follows:
From my own experience as a graduate student and from talking to students, stress is obviously a major distress. I am offering a workshop in which the you can learn quick and effective relaxation techniques which can be used ‘on the fly’, before giving a presentation or even before the defense talk.
For me, it is important to teach you methods that are fast and can be used in every situation. I will introduce several relaxation and breathing techniques. You will then have the chance to practice those methods in various scenarios and ask questions. Written summary will be provided.
3 Monday Sessions in 2019: March 25, April 1 and April 8
each from 17:00-19:00 (room t.b.a.).
The sessions build on each other, so it is in your interest to attend all sessions, but it is possible to attend individual sessions.
