A13 - Epstein-Barr virus DNA acquires cellular chromatin early in infection

PhD position available. (download job description, 75 KB)

We shall study the epigenetic and molecular events in the pre-latent phase of viral infection, when Epstein-Barr virus reprograms the resting B-lymphocytes into activated and proliferating B blasts. The project aims at characterising the nature and principles of chromatin acquisition of epigenetically naïve, histone and nucleosome-free DNA in a tractable, highly reproducible mammalian cell model.
